What is the usage term ?
All contact lens manufacture of yearly disposable. Once opened maximum usage up to 12months. Due to sensitivity nature and wear tear condition after frequently used it is highly advisable to change a new one immediately. Any sign of tear , scratch , builds of protein after each use is common depends on individual hygiene level and times of use. Contacts were made of soft hydrogel material which is common if not handled properly may cause tear or scratch. A proper use and care for your contacts may preserve the lifetime. Average recommended to dispose within 1-3months for heavy user , 4-6 months for medium user and up to 12months for light user.
Heavy user = wear more than 15x within a month
Medium user = wear less than 5x within a month
Light user = wear not more than 12x within a year
Why sometimes the contact lens power differs from optical frame glasses power ?
The optical frame glass is placed in front of the eyes, a certain distance from the eyes ; while the contact lens is directly touched in the tear layer in front of the cornea, almost no distance from the eyes, and the vertex distance effect could almost be neglected. According to a certain principles of optics, nearsighted person's eyewear contact lenses power is slightly lower than optical frame glasses power, and within -4.00D, it has no need of conversion. If above -4.00D, it needs different levels of conversion. While fitting contact lens, optometrist will proceed with power conversion according to your results of optometry and fit you with appropriate lens.
